Spring is rebirth and hope. As soon as the weather warms and there are a few days of sunshine fall planted bulbs dormant during winter begin to sprout new life and colors. Trees like oaks and dogwoods begin showing new leaf growth and perennial shrubs sprout fresh buds. Wild flowers begin to bloom covering the landscape with brilliant colors. If you are a major league baseball fan it is also a time when your favorite major league baseball team still has a chance to make the playoffs. Again, theres that hope thing…
This is a large country our US of America. 3000 miles wide and almost 4 million square miles in total. An area so big also provides Mother Nature with a huge palette for her to perform her majesty in varying shapes, colors, and textures. Natives who are passionate about their part of the country, like I am about the Sierra Nevada Foothills, might argue that theirs is the most beautiful region, the most grand, and one that Mom Nature favors above all others during spring. Given the opportunity I would counter that this (relatively) small swath of the mother lode during spring is more highly favored, is strikingly beautiful and is a highly desired area to be part of not only due to the natural beauty but due to the natural welcoming demeanor of it’s residents in smaller and more intimate communities.
Today during a short walk around the Golden K my romantic perspective of life at 3100 feet was affirmed by a few strokes from Mother Natures brush on our five acre pallet that we call The Golden K.

Thanks Monika. Wish I could take some credit but other than pressing the button that makes the shutter open and close all the credit goes to Mother Nature. I’m just glad to be along for the ride. 🙂 BTW thanks for hopping over to the new website.
